loop header pie Is the loop pipe legal on a 6.5 clone BS engine. If so how do you measure the length. Do you measure the entire pipe including the loop or do you measure from mounting point at head straight to the muffler?

Re: loop header pie Pardon my ignorance, but there are many forms of loop pipes on the market. With that in mind I don't have a clue what you are reffering to when you say loop pipe. The AKRA rule book states as follows.
Header and Muffler Requirements: Any single stage, one piece header made from .750” O.D. and .0635 I.D. steel tubing allowed with the BS tube style muffler part #89966 or it’s aftermarket equivalent(ex: rotary power) installed at the end of pipe. The tube style muffler may either be welded or tread fitted to the pipe end. The entire exhaust pipe including the muffler is 14” max length and 10” min length. If you can make a loop pipe that confrms to this rule I would say that it meets the spec. Thank You, Bill Mccutcheon |
